My Favourite Lipstick: Red Edition

Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog.  I hope you’re all doing really well.

Today I’m going to share with you my favourite red lipstick.

I think a good red lipstick should be the staple item in every girl’s makeup bag.

I’ll be the first to admit that until very recently the thought of wearing a bright red lipstick in public was terrifying. Having black hair and brown eyes and fairly pale skin, I didn’t think a red lip would suit me.

But after a little encouragement from a friend, I’m a convert. So here is my favourite go-to red lipstick.

Item: Colour Crush Lipstick

Shade: 101 ‘Red Siren’

Brand: The Body Shop (buy it here)

Price: £10

Claims: Creamy.  High impact colour.  Moisturising.  Hydrating.  Scented.  Cruelty free.

Why I Love It: It’s really easy to use, gliding evenly on to my lips without smudging.  I usually only need to apply one coat and it will last all day.  A lot of lipsticks can be quite drying but this one isn’t as it’s made with Community Trade marula oil.  I really like the sophisticated subtle rose scent too.  The fact that it’s not tested on animals is obviously also a good thing.

So next time that bold red lipstick at the make up counter catches your eye, don’t be shy! Buy it, apply it and face the world!

(And if you’re still a bit unsure, don’t forget you can tone it down by adding lip balm first then dabbing on the lipstick with your finger or a brush. Rub your lips together and then blot with a tissue).

What’s your favourite red lipstick, girls?  Let me know in the comments!

Also, if you’d like to see a post on something in particular on my blog, please let me know, I’m open to suggestions!
